Memo.
Prosecution of Kate Leigh for Perlury.

The defendant Kate leigh was proceeded
sgeinst for perjury before Mr. Love, S.M., at the
Water Police Court to-day and was committed to take
her trial et the next Quarter Sessions holden at
Rydney. Bail as before. It was thought advisable
not to call at the Police Court either ntie Kelly
or May Bragg who stated that ?roman was in their
presence on the night that Kate Leigh swore he was
with her. Mr. Moseley, however, who appearel for
Kate Leigh, obtained from Detective Robertson in
cross examination, although objected to, the fact
egirci4eL_
that Ettie Kelly and Nay Bragg had made statements
to this effect.
William Henry Jackson the Blaoltemith employed by the Tramway Department who gives good
evidence corroborating Michael Hale, was not in
attendance Pt the Police Court although he VAS subpoenaed and although it was found from his employers
that he had left in the morning to attend the Court.
This witneei is an important one and should be called
at the higher Court.
