• Coded and decoded telegrams, 1930-31. This consists of a
collection of loose papers comprising coded and decoded
telegrams between Governor Game and the Dominions Office in
London. There is also a letter dated 10 July 1931 from Premier
Lang to Game concerning transmission to the Secretary of State
for the Dominions of his comments on the terms of the
resolution passed by the Legislative Council on 8 July, together
with a copy of the Legislative Council resolution, and copies of
extracts from the Journal of the New South Wales Legislative
Council in which some of the Governor/Premier correspondence
has been printed. Also included are two Parliamentary papers:
"Legislative Council (Correspondence between His Excellency
the Governor and the Premier (Mr Lang) relating to proposed
additional appointments to the Legislative Council)", comprising
papers dating from November 1930 to March 1931; and
"Administration of public affairs in New South Wales
(Correspondence between His Excellency the Governor and the
Premier (Mr Lang) in reference to certain aspects of)", ordered
to be printed 1 July 1931.
• A bundle headed "Dismissal of Mr. J. T. Lang's Ministry
13th May 1932".This mainly consists of correspondence
between Governor Game, Premier Lang, and the Dominions
Office. Included are: copies of the Commonwealth Financial
Agreements (Commonwealth Liability) Act of 1932 and the
Financial Agreement Enforcement Act of 1932; Treasury circular
of 13 April 1932 about the procedures to be followed for
collections and expenditure; printed Parliamentary paper
entitled Financial, 28 April 1932; minutes of proceedings of the
Executive Council in connection with commissioning B S B
Stevens to form an administration upon the dismissal of Lang
and his Ministers from office on Friday 13 May 1932; May 1932
letters of support for Lang and anti the Governor from various
unions; and newspaper cuttings.

Amendment (Legislative Council) Bill of 1932, 1932-33
Although the Constitution Further Amendment (Referendum) Act,
1932 was assented to in early February 1933, assent to the
Constitution Amendment (Legislative Council) Bill, 1932 ("An Act
to reform the Constitution and alter the powers of the Legislative
Council; to reduce and limit the number of Members of the
Legislative Council; to reconstitute the Legislative Council in
accordance with the reformed Constitution; to amend the
Constitution Act, 1902, and certain other Acts; and for purposes
connected therewith"), was withheld by the Governor pending its
approved by a majority of the electors voting on a Referendum
taken under the provisions of the Constitution Further Amendment
(Referendum) Act, 1932. The Governor had also decided to take
similar action in regard to the Constitution Further Amendment
(Legislative Council Elections) Bill, 1932 until the Royal Assent had
been given to the Constitution Amendment (Legislative Council)
Bill, 1932.
