Particularly worth noting are the following
• in [5/5273]: 14/15223 List of all persons of or above the age of
21 years, whose deaths have been registered in the
Registration District of Willoughby, Electorate of Gordon during
the quarter ended 31 March 1914
• in [5/5275]: 14/13666 re irregularities in connection with
voting in the Liverpool Plains Electorate during the last General
Election; 14/13467 re alleged roll stuffing, Electoral District of
Cootamundra; 14/15188 Return "Synopsis of Voting" for the
General Election of 1913 (laid on table of both Houses 3 March
1914) (includes a proof copy of the return, number of votes
polled and number of electors enrolled at each polling place).
Alleged double voting in 1917 General Election, 1917
This bundle comprises papers relating to alleged cases of double
voting in the General Election held on 24 March 1917, at various
Electorates throughout the State, at both the first and second
ballots. Many were found to be the result of, or were believed to
have arisen from, the wrongful marking of the Roll by booth
officials.

Other papers relate to the improper or irregular use of application
forms (claim forms used instead of transfer forms); improper use
of electoral claim forms; and, the duplications of names on the
Electoral Rolls through use of the wrong application form of
enrolment. Replies from various Returning Officers to the Chief
Electoral Officer's circular of 31 March, reporting that no "double
voting" or plural voting or personation discovered, as disclosed by
the scrutiny of the rolls are also in this bundle.
There are also papers relating to alleged double voting at a byelection in the Macquarie Electoral District on 28 July 1917.
Included are reports from the relevant Returning Officer on the
apparent cases of double voting or other irregularities; Police
reports giving results of inquiries; statements of electors and of
Deputy Returning Officers; and particulars of scrutiny of the rolls.
1917 Electoral, 1911-17
This bundle comprises files registered in 1917 with the E prefix,
which relate to the various matters associated with the
administration of the State Electoral Office and electoral matters.

polling places; representations from individuals and organisations;
reports from Police; objections to removal of names from Electoral
Lists; and claims for expenses (printing etc). Also included are
papers relating to: attempted forgeries in relation to claims for
enrolment; non-enrolment of electors; duplicated names on the
Rolls; scrutineers in booths; election at Lord Howe Island; byeelections; taking of second ballot; return of writs; holding of
Revision Courts; appointments of Returning Officers and other
electoral officials; overtime for Electoral Registrars; electoral rolls,
including requests for; and, transmission of collectors' books,
forms and papers.
