Old Bailey Sessions-Returns of Convicted Prisoners, 1815–49
Original returns by the Clerk of the Sessions of those committed for trial at the Sessions of Oyer and Terminer and
Gaol Delivery for the City of London and County of Middlesex, with the charges against them and the results of the
trials. From Nov 1834 onwards the returns are of the Central Criminal Court.
The returns provide details of the prisoner's name, crime as charged in indictment, verdict of jury and sentence. They
are arranged chronologically by session.

Criminal Registers, 1791–1868
These are registers of all persons charged with indictable offences showing the results of the trials, the sentences in
cases of conviction, the dates of execution of persons sentenced to death, with personal information respecting the
prisoners. H.O.26 consists of the register for Middlesex only, which from 1850 is included in H.O.27, which contains
the remaining counties of England and Wales arranged in alphabetical order.
Occasionally when they were being microfilmed a page was omitted and added at the end. Therefore if a county is not
in alphabetical order check at the end of the frames of that particular volume.
