Taylor on Oakey Creek = St Ruth Run Woolshed
Myall Creek & where the town of Dalby is now located
Ross (Findlay) = Greenbank Run on Condamine River
Stevens = Myall Creek or Caimkillenbun Run
Andrew = Irvingdale Run on the Upper Myall Creek
Bell's Jimbour Run, at red" J", on Jimbour Creek formerely Brush Creek
Bell's Woolshed, at red "M", now Macalister - on Western Railway - where coal is now
shipped to Brisbane by rail.- Coal deposits found by Leichhardt in 1844.
Wilkie on the Daandine, red "D", or Monaghan's Creek Run
Bowman on Coorangah Run - later Thomas De Lacy Moffatt - on the border between the
two districts, hence his letter 53/1784, enquiring as to where the C.P.S. was to be located
- Wombo or Dalby.
Crowder on Weranga Run
The red" cross" shown where the pre Cobb & Co, and later Cobb & Co. coaches crossed
the Condamine River at Range's Hotel, not the Lone Ranger but John Range, the site of
which he called Pleasant Bank, where he drowned. It was also a coach stageing post.
Wombo District
L.E. Barney, previously Joseph King, on Kogan Run on Kogan Creek. Now, red K, town
of Kogan.
King - Joseph on Jinghi Jinghi Run
Goggs = the two Gogg's Runs of Chinchilla & Womgongera
Red "Ch "= Town of Chinchilla on Charley's Creek- on Western Rail Line
Red "W" = about where the town of Wombo was situated
Birrell = Terriboo Run
Red "Co" = Town of Condamine to where the C.P.S. was moved.
Miles - Town on Western Rail Line - depleted most of the once thriving township of
Condamine
Dangar - on a branch of the Dogwood Creek - should be Ferrett & Dangar, probably the
site of Jno.Ferret's run Wallan
Isaac Frderick on Emu Creek probably the Doolakah Run, now small town of Dulacca on
Western Rail Line
Ewer - James Garnet Ewers Run Wombo Forest or Yamo Run
The Condamine River became the Balonne River after the confluence with the Dogwood
Creek.
Jones's River now Weir River- Goondiwinda District
The early coach services run from Dalby to Roma & Surat via the Range's Bridge
crossing to Dandine, Kogan, Wombo and Condamine Township.
The railway ran from Dalby, Macalister, Coorangah, Warra, Chinchilla Miles, Dulacca,
Yuleba to Roma. The line originally intended to follow the coach route but decided to
locate it away from the Condamine River to avoid the expence of building so many
bridges.
